The latest space fleet action in the Daniel Leary story.  Fast action, good combat scenes, memorable characters.  A fun read.

Some Golden Harbor

Some Golden Harbor (Lt. Leary, #5)

Flight of the Nighthawks (The Darkwar Saga, #1)

Mirror of Worlds

The Mirror of Worlds

Book 2 of Crown of Isles continues the struggles of Prince Garric and his sister Sharina to subdue the enemy.  A good plot, memorable characters, and lots of magic.

Into a Dark Realm

Into a Dark Realm (The Darkwar Saga, #2)

Book 2 of Dark War Saga.  Pug and his extended family search out a way to save his world from invasion by the vicious Dasati form the 2nd plane, and end up going to the Dasati’s dangerous home world.

The Street Lawyer

A dramatic event in the beginning catches your attention.  A big lawyer opens up his eyes and starts fighting for justice to the underprivileged.  It’s a great read.  Keeps your attention as justice is served.

Debt of Bones

Debt of Bones (Sword of Truth, #0.5)

It’s a good read for a hot afternoon.  It introduces you to a different world, where there’s magic, spells and wizards.  It’s a great intro to begin to read Terry Goodkind’s series “Sword of Truth.”  It gives background info of what goes on before in the beginning.

Mockingjay

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3)

The third and last book, and the best ending to this amazing series.

City of Ember

The City of Ember (Book of Ember, #1)

A very interesting and different story with an ending you’ll never have guessed.

On the Trail of the Truth

On the Trail of Truth (The Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister #3)

A little slow in the beginning, but ended well.

Catching Fire

Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2)

I liked Catching Fire even better than the first.

Hunger Games

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1)

I like Collins’ way of writing.  The Hunger Games had re hooked. (all three)

Lord Foulgrin's Letters

Lord Foulgrin's Letters

Man vs. demon. Alcorn’s view of the spiritual world was pretty interesting.

Answered Prayers

Answered Prayers

Faith is the main character in this book, and faith in her dreams through many life changing obstacles is what brings her through to achieving more dreams than she could ever imagine.

Changes

Changes

From coast to coast, Mel the dedicated news anchor, traveled to cover a story on the world’s best heart surgeon to save a poor little girl’s life.  Not only due to her coverage and interview with Dr. Hallman, did it lead to a small child’s new extended chance on life.  It led to breath taking changes for many-as life was experienced in new ways by each as families adapted to the changes.

Granny Dan

Granny Dan

A love story of Granny Dan’s hidden youth discovered through letters of long ago.  Tied to the heartstrings of the doctor who cared for her while catching influenza in ballet school.  Would only hold true to change her life and dreams forever.  From Russia to America is a dance, a dance we all call life!

Dead Ever After

Dead Ever After (Sookie Stackhouse, #13)

This book felt anti-climactic.  Harris uses her beloved signature style of writing, but it felt like she just put together a bunch of little ideas for ending the series, some of which could have been left out.

Two Guys Read Jane Austen

Two Guys Read Jane Austen

This book has all the value of typical literary criticism with a much more casual approach.  It’s nice to get a fresh perspective on Jane Austen from a man’s eyes—and two men reading it for fun, nonetheless.

Call Me Irresistible

Call Me Irresistible (Wynette, Texas #6)

There was nothing overly special about this book, but that’s kind of why I liked it.  It’s a perfect laid-back summer beach read full of funny scenarios, cute dialogue, and an unlikely love match. Cute book!

Lasso Her Heart

Lasso Her Heart

This is happily-ever-after Christian romance.  However, I was looking for something light-hearted and this spent a great deal of time discussing grief and how to overcome it with God.

Serendipity

Two fun romances in one book.  Macomber makes these witty and humorous.

Bachelor's Puzzle

Bachelor's Puzzle

Good Christian romance mixed with some suspense.  Has a strong underlying theme of grace and forgiveness.

Hidden

Hidden (Sisters of the Heart, #1)

A touching love story that enter-twines suspense and grace.

Fancy Pants

Fancy Pants (Texas Historical Series, #1)

Light-hearted Christian romance.  This is a well-written happily-ever-after book.  The ending was somewhat anti-climatic, but it was still a good book.

All the Lovely Bad Ones

All the Lovely Bad Ones

Well written book, but kind of scary for a youth book.

Friends Forever

Friends Forever

Depressing not what I expected.  Grasped to get EVERY problem possible into a story.

An amusing look at the transition of three middle-aged friends from careers/city life to life on a plantation.

Catching Fire

Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2)

This book continued on from the second extremely well.  I was disappointed in some of the storyline but only because of the relationships between characters

Hunger Games

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1)

Really enjoyed the book and had trouble putting it down.  Very suspenseful.  Have honestly thought our society could come to this.

Mockingjay

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3)

I enjoyed the book but was disappointed in the ending of the book.

Gone Girl

Gone Girl

This book is very exciting and it keeps twisting and turning just as you think you have it figured out.  I loved that it was set in Missouri, it made you feel connected.  I did not like how quickly the author tied all the loose ends and the way the book ended.  Overall it was a great read and I would recommend it.
The Future of Us

The future of us is the story of two friends, Josh & Emma, who stumble upon Facebook fifteen years before it is invented.  They find themselves in the future and try to figure out what they can do in the present to make the future turn out differently.  In the end, they discover living in the present fully is the best way to have a brighter future.

Wonderstruck

Wonderstruck

Wonderful is another story within a story.  One is written and the other is told in
beautiful drawing.  Events unfold many years apart and a museum ends up leading a deaf boy and an old woman to each other.  I liked this book as much as his other book about Hugo Cabret.

What Is Christmas?

Christmas is about God.
Kate Greenaway's Mother Goose

I love this book!

Planting a Rainbow

Planting a Rainbow

Planting all kinds and colors of flowers.

Requiem

Requiem (Delirium, #3)

I would have give this book, the final book in the Delirium trilogy 5 stars, had it not been for the ending.  The ending was inconsistent with the rest of the trilogy and very disappointing.  I'd still recommend it though, because after the first two in a series, you have to read the third and finish off the trilogy.

Pandemonium

Pandemonium (Delirium, #2)

This is the second book in the Delirium trilogy, and I loved it! Normally the 2nd books seem to act as fillers, but not Pandemonium. It was full of excitement as the main character met a new love interest and tried to save the world.  A definite recommend!

The Four Corners of the Sky
