Debbie Macomber is an author that I read quite frequently. Most of her books follow the same story line, but with situations that deal with particular time/setting of the story. This book followed that. In the beginning we meet Lonny and Joy. Lonny is a hard-working rancher and Joy is a the 3-4th grade teacher. When Joy first moved to Red Springs Lonny and she dated. Things didn't work out so they tried to avoid each other as much as possible. Lonny's sister Letty is Joy's best friend. Letty knows that Lonny and Joy belong together. After a minor car incident, Lonny starts to realize that he and Joy do belong together. In the meantime, Joy's college boyfriend, Josh, comes into the picture. When Josh shows up, Lonny tells Josh that he (Lonny) is in love with Joy. In the end, Josh comes to see that Joy does love Lonny and leaves town. Lonny and Joy are engaged at the end. Predictable!
