"The Pun Also Rises" is not a collection of puns. Instead, the author, John Polloack, the winner of the 1995 O.Henry Pun-off World Championships and a presidential speechwriter for president Clinton, analyzes the different types of puns and traces the history of the pun. He uses puns liberally in his writing and uses example puns to illustrate points. However if the reader is looking for a collection of puns, I would suggest "Get Thee to a Punnery" by Richard Lederer or "Bennett Cerf's Treasury of Atrocious Puns".
